Nothing is more frustrating than entering your Citroën C3, Aircross or Basalt And the car shows no sign of life, or worse, a mysterious light comes on in the dashboard in the middle of a trip. Often, the problem isn’t a serious breakdown, but just a blown fuse or a sensor needing attention.
In this guide, we demystify the electrical aspects of the new Citroën line in Brazil and provide reference tables that every owner should have saved on their phone.
The Problem: The Fear of “Power Outages”
Citroën has always had a reputation (often unfairly) for having a “sensitive” electrical system. With the new Stellantis platform, the cars have become much more robust, but even so, small voltage spikes can still blow protective fuses. Taking the car to the mechanic just to replace a R$2.00 part and paying R$200.00 for labor is what we call “avoidable damage”.

- An extractor forceps: It’s usually located on the fuse box cover itself, but having a spare helps.

Expert Tip
If a fuse blows again shortly after being replaced, Do not install a fuse with a higher amperage rating.. This is a very serious mistake that can cause a fire in the wiring. If the fuse “blew” twice, there is a real short circuit in the component that needs to be investigated by a professional electrician.
