You turn the key or press the start button on your Citroën C4 and nothing happens? The dashboard lights up, but the engine shows no sign of life? 3. The “Click” Test

Have someone turn the key while you listen to the BSM box on the engine. If you hear a dry “click” coming from the box, the relay is engaging, but power may not be reaching the starter motor or the starter motor itself may be stuck.

4. Signal Test on the Solenoid

Using a polarity tester or multimeter, check if 12V is present on the thin wire (control wire) connected to the starter motor when the key is turned. If current is present but the motor does not turn, the fault lies with the brushes or the solenoid of the starter motor.
