Where are the fuse boxes located?

In the new Citroën models produced in Brazil (Porto Real), there are two power plants main points:

1. Internal Box (Panel): It is located on the driver’s left side, below the steering wheel. To access it, you need to remove a snap-on plastic cover.
2. Engine Housing (External Compartment): It’s located next to the battery. It’s a black box with side latches.. Tip: Only open this box with the engine switched off.

How to identify a blown fuse?

You don’t need expensive tools. Remove the fuse with the plastic tweezers (which are usually stored in the fuse box lid) and hold it up to the light:

• Good: The U-shaped or Z-shaped metal filament inside the plastic is intact.
• Burned: The filament is broken or there is a dark (burned) spot inside the clear plastic.

Expert Tip

Verdict: Never, under any circumstances, replace a blown fuse with one of a higher amperage (e.g., replacing a 10A fuse with a 20A fuse) or with “wire strips.” The fuse is your car’s “safety fuse.” If it blows, it protects the system from a fire. If you install a stronger one, the next component to burn out will be the car’s wiring or the electronic control unit (BSI), which costs thousands of reais.
