BSI Reset Procedure (The “Reboot” of the Citroën)

Since Citroën cars are veritable computers on wheels, sometimes… BSI (Comfort Center) The system “freezes” or accumulates errors in temporary memory. There is a specific procedure to restart the system without causing damage to the modules, known as… 3-Minute Procedure.

• When to do it: After replacing the battery, if the car is exhibiting strange electronic behavior or after a power outage.
• Step by Step (Required):
  1. Turn off all the lights, turn off the radio, and close the doors (leave the driver’s side window open for safety to reach the key).
  2. Turn off the ignition and Don’t touch anything. for at least 3 minutes. You will hear a “click” coming from the panel — that’s the BSI entering sleep mode (Sleep Mode).
  3. Disconnect the cable. positive Disconnect the battery for 15 seconds and plug it back in.
  4. Please wait a little longer. 2 minutes without connecting anything (so that the modules recognize each other).
  5. Turn on the ignition only (without starting the engine) and wait 10 seconds. Now you can start the engine and reset the clock and windows.

Attention: Never disconnect the battery with the ignition on or immediately after turning off the engine. This can corrupt the BSI software and prevent the car from starting!
